The RTE Act 2009 directs the States to ensure the quality requirement for recruitment of teachers. The persons recruited as teachers should possess the essential aptitude and ability to meet the challenges of teaching at all levels of schooling. K-TET is the examination to assess the eligibility of teacher candidates for Lower Primary, Upper Primary and High School Classes in Kerala.

Separate test will be conducted to select teachers for Category I (Lower Primary classes), Category II (Upper Primary classes) and Category III (High School classes).

The conduct of the examination is entrusted with Pareeksha Bhavan, Kerala.

Prospectus

A prospectus for the examination is made available in the website of Pareeksha Bhavan (www.keralapareekshabhavan.in).

Candidates are strictly advised to go through the same before submitting the application form.

Qualifications for applying for each Category is given in detail in the Prospectus.

K-TET Exam Fee

The Exam fee is Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred) for each category.

Fee for reserved categories such as SC/ST and differently abled categories is Rs.250/-each (Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty only).

How to Apply for K-TET 2012

Applications should be submitted to Pareeksha Bhavan only through online.

Exam fee may be remitted in cash to any of the selected branches of State Bank of Travancore in and out of Kerala.

The procedure for sending application and remitting fee is given in detail in the Prospectus (Page 13). Candidates can select the   district   for   the   examination   while   filling   the   application   form.

K-TET 2012 Exam Centre

The centre of examination will be allotted by Pareeksha Bhavan with the admit card.

After submitting application through online, a hard copy of the application may be send by post to Secretary, Pareeksha Bhavan as prescribed in the prospectus. ‘Application for K-TET 2012′ should be written on the top of the cover which is sent to Pareeksha Bhavan.

Important Dates

  • Submission of Application (online): 18.7.2012 to 31.7.2012
  • Last date of receipt of application (hard copy by post): 04.08.2012 5 p.m.
  • Downloading Admit Card: 16.08.2012 onwards
  • Date of Examination: 25.8.2012
